Solar_eclipse_predicted_for_March_201576

Everyone is very excited here in Northern Europe (well I am anyway) because for the second time in 16 years we are able to see, in my case (well in most cases actually), a partial Solar Eclipse if the cloud cover stays away. Totality is over the Faroe Islands.

Unusually, just over 12 hours later, we have the Spring Equinox. This is when path of the Sun crosses the celestial equator on its journey north towards the Tropic of Cancer and moves into the sign of Aries.

The Eclipse is 29deg 27mins of Pisces so the Moon will move into Aries within the hour and the Sun crosses the cusp between the signs at the same time it crosses the equator 10.45 pm or near enough.

For these two to coincide is quite rare and also very meaningful in Astrological terms.

As the Sun moves into Aries is signifies the height of spring. I know that the usual idea is that it is the first day of spring, but if you think about it that isn’t really true. Signs of spring have been happening in nature for weeks before this time. The Spring Equinox is the time when the days start to grow longer than the nights, the sun becomes more powerful and the Aries time of year is when the sap starts rising and there is a surge of energy. In Astrological terms, this is the beginning of a new cycle as Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac.

The New Moon is also about the end of one cycle and the beginning of another, and the eclipsing of the Sun by the Moon heralds very powerful changes. When I had a Solar Eclipse on exactly the same degree as my Sun, it brought about a lot of unexpected events, from an abscess on my tooth suddenly making the side of my face swell to the size of a grapefruit to the vacuum cleaner finally giving up the ghost and the washing machine breaking down, all on the same day.

The upshot was, my parents looked after my children overnight, which gave me a chance to recover from a lingering virus that I’d had for about a month, the washing machine needed to be fixed and we were able to discover other things that were wearing out on it, it went on to last me a full 20 years more. We also had to buy a new vacuum which gave us no trouble for many more years.

I won’t go into details of the rest of the chart for this current eclipse, only suffice to say that with such a set-up and the closing of faster moving plants to exactitude with the patterns I have written about, Uranus/Pluto and Neptune/Saturn  it will be interesting to see what happens in the area of the World where the ‘moon shadow’ travels. http://www.solareclipse2015.org.uk/nasas-global-map/

The late Dennis Elwell http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_Elwell_(astrologer) had a very interesting take on the point of the Eclipse in his book ‘Cosmic Loom’ and I was there in 1987 when he did a talk about how he predicted the Herald of Free Enterprise disaster and when he actually said ‘…and in October this year the managers of the London Underground should watch out for fire’ – he was a month out.

To summerise this day I would say ‘endings and beginnings’ it is a time when things will be bought to a head where there will be no other option but to deal with them and see them on their way. This will be on both personal and individual levels as well as looking at World events. We have been experiencing various unsettling events for a while now but by the time of the Eclipse/Equinox there will be a sense of ‘last straw-ness’ or ‘worm turning’ about it all and processes will be put into motion.  This won’t all happen in one day, it wil be over a period of weeks and months, some things even years. It will be interesting to keep an eye on news.

Then 2 weeks later we have a Lunar Eclipse which we won’t see in England because it is around 10 30 in the morning. More about that another time.
